Golf at Omaha Beach golf course

Situated close to the famous landing beaches, Omaha Golf Course is one of the best in the West of France and deserves its international label with now 36 holes (the only golf course in Normandy featuring 36 holes).

Mer Bocage : Nine holes are close to the sea where the windy conditions prevail. The green of hole number 6 at the edge of the cliff overlooking the harbour is a treasure in itself. The other nine holes are set in the heart of the Norman bocage with its apple trees and dense bushes which make up one of the course main difficulties.

Etang Manoir : Quite different from the Mer Bocage course this eighteen holes is more technical with several water hazard, sharp dog legs,  and some hilly fairways. Greens on Le Manoir portion are almost never flat and a good score there requires patience and accuracy.

Golf at Château de Champ de Bataille golf course

The reputation of this championship golf course as a difficult and challenging course has grown steadily since its inception 14 in 1988.

Dominated by a 17th century castle, this course with its immense clusters of rhododendrons and centuries old trees is considered as one of the top 25 most beautiful courses in France, and competitors compare this course to the West Course at Wentworth.

Non golfers suggested program :

Visit of Monet’s gardens in Giverny, a wonderful promenade in the flower paradise of the impressionist Master. The house with its pink crushed brick where Claude Monet lived from 1883 to 1926 once again has its colourful décor. The visitor can admire the collection Japanese prints of the Master, the huge Nymphéas studio which contains the Foundation’s shop.

The garden have been replanted as they once were : the rectangular Clos Normand offers from Spring to Autumn the palette of varying colours of the painter-gardener who was “ecstatic about flowers”. Lastly the water garden with its famous Japanese Bridge, its azalea and its pond has become again that casket of sky and water which inspired the pictorial universe of the water lilies.
